AirTalk Convenes Discussion on
Asian and Pacific Islander Population in California
Los Angeles, CA (Fri., Jan. 28, 2005) - On Thursday, February 3 at 10 a.m., Larry Mantle, host of 89.3 KPCC's AirTalk, will moderate a discussion on changes in California's Asian and Pacific Islander communities. The discussion, to be broadcast live on 89.3 KPCC, will explore the findings of a demographic profile issued by The Asian Pacific American Legal Center of Southern California - "The Diverse Face of Asians and Pacific Islanders in California" Report. KPCC will broadcast live from Our Lady of Angels Cathedral at 555 West Temple Street in downtown Los Angeles from 10 a.m. to Noon (10 to 11 a.m. - panel discussion; 11 a.m to noon - topic TBA).

According to the demographic profile, there are 4.5 million Asian and Pacific Islanders living in California. Asian and Pacific Islanders have the highest levels of linguistic isolation and below average homeownership rates in the state.
