The government of the Shah of Iran fell to Ayatollah Khomeini on this day in 1979. Join Larry Mantle's Airtalk and Kitty Felde's Talk of the City to discuss the Islamic state that Khomeini created and how it fared after his death. On Airtalk from 10:20 -11:00 am Mantle will examine the current heated electoral debate within the current theocracy.
With Homa Sarshar, a freelance journalist and writer who does work for Iranian television and radio and Dr. Najm Meshkati , a professor of civil and environmental engineering at USC.
Then at 2 pm Talk of the City will air highlights from "Dreaming in Farsi," KPCC's Shirley Jahad's account of her first trip back to Iran with her father who left in the late 1950s.
